The Academy

The Dutch layer on top of solid experience

Every FairChain accountant learns the Dutch way of working while doing the work, supported by a structured programme of guidance and testing. Learning on the job, with the FairChain Academy underneath it.

Our accountants already know IFRS and audit work inside out. The Academy adds what makes the difference in a Dutch firm: compilation practice, RJk reporting and the local tax basis, learned on the job while they are already contributing.

Before the Academy

It starts with selection

We only select people who meet the following qualifications, so the programme builds on real experience rather than replacing it.

Big Four background

CPA certified

Several years of relevant experience

A personality assessment and a case study before we make a match

Dutch supervision

Guided by a Dutch Register Accountant

The Academy is led by a Dutch Register Accountant (RA). Not an abstract programme, but a Dutch-qualified professional who guides the accountant through Dutch compilation practice, reviews the work in the early period, and makes sure the theory lands in daily practice.

In the first weeks, the RA and a dedicated Account Manager sit in on meetings, so context, expectations and the Dutch way of working come across directly. You stay end responsible for the quality of the work. We help the accountant get to your quality requirements.

The curriculum

Six modules that cover the Dutch practice

The programme works through the Dutch way of working step by step, from mindset to reporting and tax.

Module 1

The Dutch Accounting Landscape & the Compilation Mindset

How the Dutch profession is organised and what the compilation mindset asks of an accountant.

Module 2

Working for a Dutch Firm

Day-to-day practice inside a Dutch firm: expectations, communication and ways of working.

Module 3

The FairChain Way

How we work, what we stand for and how an accountant operates as an integrated team member.

Module 4

Standard 4410 in Depth

The compilation standard (NV COS 4410) in detail, from engagement to documentation.

Module 5

Dutch Financial Reporting Rules

Reporting under Dutch rules (RJk) and where it differs from IFRS in daily practice.

Module 6

Dutch Tax Essentials

The tax basics a Dutch compilation accountant needs, including VAT fundamentals.

Tested, not just offered. Each module closes with a quiz, and the programme ends with a final assessment. So knowledge is checked, not assumed.

How it works over time

Three intensive months, then it keeps going

The accountant contributes from day one. The first three months are the intensive phase. After that, the training continues every month, so development never really stops.

First 3 months · intensive
Month 1

Landing

Settling into your systems and your way of working. The Dutch RA and the Account Manager sit in on meetings, so context and expectations come across directly. This first month is a real investment on our side, so we offer it free. We put in the time to start the collaboration right.

Months 1-3

Building the Dutch layer

The six modules run alongside real client work, guided by the Dutch RA. Learning on the job, with structure and testing underneath it.

Month 3 onwards · continuous

Ongoing monthly training

After the intensive phase, training continues on a monthly basis. We ask the firm for feedback along the way and adjust the learning where the work shows it is needed. The RA stays available for questions and guidance as the collaboration grows.

The result

Prepared, supported, and getting stronger every month

An accountant who takes part in your work from the start and grows into the Dutch practice as the programme runs. You keep control of quality and client relationships. We make sure the person is ready and keeps developing.
