About us

Our Story

FairChain Workforce was born out of a simple yet powerful realization. While working on various social and economic development projects for FairChain Foundation in Kenya and Ethiopia, we encountered an abundance of highly skilled professionals who were ready and eager to put their talents to use. At the same time, we witnessed a growing labor shortage back in the Netherlands where over 400,000 job positions were going unfilled. We knew we had to create a bridge between these two realities.

That’s why we started FairChain Workforce: to connect motivated, capable experts from Africa with organizations in the Netherlands that urgently need their skills through remote work. By doing so, we’re not just helping companies fill critical roles; we’re also creating life-changing opportunities for people who deserve to see their hard-earned expertise recognized and rewarded. Our commitment to fairness and sustainability underpins everything we do, as we strive to build a brighter future for businesses, talented professionals, and our global community.

FairChain Principles

For over 15 years, Guido van Staveren van Dijk has championed the concept of FairChain. Striving to create a more equitable distribution of returns across global production chains. He first introduced this approach in 2012, when he founded Moyee Coffee. By roasting coffee in the country of origin, Moyee ensures that 50% of the product’s value stays with local farmers and communities.

Building on this success, Guido applied FairChain principles to chocolate, honey, and other products, always focusing on keeping more value where raw materials are produced. Today, the FairChain Workforce represents the natural evolution of his work: a movement reshaping the global labor market by linking Dutch companies with highly skilled African professionals, ensuring these workers share fairly in the value they help create.
