An Interview with Yohannes: His Journey at Moyee Ireland
At our business center, we are always inspired by the dedication and passion our team members bring to their work. Today, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Yohannes Demas, who works for Moyee Ireland. In this short interview, Yohannes shared his experiences and what he enjoys most about his role.
Q: Hi Yohannes, can you tell us a bit about your role and what you do for Moyee?
My role at Moyee Ireland involves handling financial tasks, including drafting invoices, reconciling accounts with the Bank of Ireland, and managing vendor bills from platforms like Shopify, Stripe, and PayPal. I also review profit and loss statements, track aged receivables, and prepare financial statements. My job ensures that everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
I really appreciate the supportive work environment. If there’s something I need to improve, my team guides me in the right direction rather than criticizing. That allows me to grow and develop my skills. I also love working with Odoo—it makes accounting much easier. My coworkers feel like family, especially Betelhem—we help each other and solve problems together. The entire team is friendly, and FairChain Workforce provides great support.
Q: How has your experience been working with Moyee Ireland?
This is the best job I’ve ever had. The accounting system is clear and easy to understand. The invoices clearly show debits, credits, and the differences between B2B and B2C transactions. In my previous jobs, I had to figure things out on my own, but here, everything is well-structured, which makes my work much more efficient.
Q: What are the differences between Irish and Ethiopian companies?
One of the biggest differences is communication. In Ethiopia, many managers don’t listen to employees—they just give instructions without discussion. If something goes wrong, they often yell instead of guiding you. In Ireland, people take the time to listen to your ideas and solutions. They work with you to fix problems rather than just telling you what to do. That difference makes the work environment much more positive.
Q: What keeps you motivated on a daily basis?
Every morning, I wake up feeling excited about my job. I enjoy the teamwork, especially during meetings where we collaborate to find solutions. That motivates me a lot. If I ever have a question, I know I can ask Shane or my colleagues for support.
Q: Where do you want to be in five years?
I want to grow within this company and work my way up to a senior accountant. Eventually, I’d love to become a business center manager. I believe in my ability to achieve this, and I’m willing to work hard for it.
We are grateful for dedicated and passionate professionals like Yohannes, who make a difference in our work environment. We look forward to seeing him continued growth and success in his role at Moyee Ireland
